I approached la Sorbonne university as a common visitor who strolls in corridors and passages, in libraries and lecture halls, in laboratories and unused hidden recesses, sometimes guided by encounters and with no special prejudice. What rapidly emerged from the strolls are the busy atmospheres of places to study and teach. I often went there at times when its usual occupants had left the place so as to fully taste its atmosphere. A multitude of intertwined signs with the trace, the wearing, the color and the matter as common stand emanates from it. Yves Gellie
